Return to Nevermore and a Dark Prophecy

Season 2 begins with Wednesday’s return to Nevermore after a summer spent honing her psychic powers. Once a misfit, she now finds herself a reluctant celebrity, trailed by admirers and stalkers alike. But fame is the least of her problems: a terrifying vision shows her roommate Enid (Emma Myers) lying dead, with Wednesday seemingly responsible. Black tears stain her face whenever these visions strike, a grim new symptom of her evolving abilities.

In an effort to prevent Enid’s death, Wednesday distances herself from her friend, driving a painful wedge between them. Meanwhile, new complications arise: her brother Pugsley joins Nevermore with unstable electric powers, and a new principal, Barry Dort (Steve Buscemi), takes charge. Far from being a stabilizing figure, Dort conceals sinister motives that soon entangle Wednesday in another deadly mystery.

Principal Dort and the Cult Conspiracy

Steve Buscemi’s Principal Dort initially appears eccentric but harmless—until Wednesday uncovers his ties to the Morning Song cult, long connected to Bianca Barclay’s family. Operating under an alias, Dort infiltrated Nevermore to manipulate students and pursue Grandmama Frump’s fortune. His scheme culminates during the school’s gala, where he attempts to kidnap Bianca. Ajax ultimately petrifies him with his gorgon powers, and a crashing chandelier finishes the job. Nevermore loses yet another headmaster, but Bianca finally escapes her family’s shadow.

The Mad Scientist: Isaac Night’s Revenge

The larger threat of the season emerges with Isaac Night, a reanimated scientist tied to Gomez Addams’ past. Once a student at Nevermore, Isaac had experimented with curing Hydes, using Gomez’s electric powers as fuel. The experiment failed, leaving Isaac dead and his severed hand reanimated as the family’s loyal Thing. Now resurrected, Isaac seeks revenge and the completion of his experiment.

He kidnaps Pugsley to power his machine and enlists his Hyde-afflicted sister Francoise—revealed as Tyler Galpin’s long-lost mother. In the finale at Iago Tower, Wednesday destroys the machine, freeing Tyler and sparking a brutal Hyde battle between mother and son. Francoise ultimately perishes, and Thing turns on its former master, ripping out Isaac’s clockwork heart and ending his undead rampage.

Enid’s Werewolf Awakening

Parallel to Wednesday’s battles, Enid faces her own transformation. She discovers she is an Alpha werewolf, capable of immense strength but at risk of losing her humanity forever. Despite Wednesday’s coldness, the two reconcile before the finale.

When Wednesday is buried alive by Isaac, Enid embraces her Alpha form under the full moon to save her friend. She rescues Wednesday but pays the price: unable to revert to human form, Enid flees into the wilderness. The finale hints at her survival, spotted near the Canadian border, but her fate remains uncertain. Wednesday, refusing to abandon her, sets out with Uncle Fester to bring Enid home.

Family Secrets and the Ominous Ending

Grandmama Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley) arrives at Nevermore, unveiling long-hidden Addams family secrets. Wednesday discovers the diary of Aunt Ophelia, Morticia’s estranged sister, only to learn in the chilling final scene that Ophelia is alive—imprisoned by Hester and scrawling the ominous message: “Wednesday must die.”

Meanwhile, Tyler Galpin, left orphaned and directionless, is approached by Professor Isadora Capri (Billie Piper), who offers him a place among a hidden community of Hydes. Whether this is salvation or manipulation remains unclear.
