Key points at a glance
Main disruption window: Sunday 7 September – Thursday 11 September 2025 (plus a partial morning knock‑on on Friday 12 September). Expect little to no service across all London Underground lines on 8–11 September; limited services on 7 September.
DLR: No service on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 September due to separate strike action.
Elizabeth line & London Overground: No strikes planned; they will run but will be extremely busy. The Elizabeth line will not stop between Whitechapel and Bond Street at specific times (see table).
Friday 5 & Saturday 6 September: Industrial action by non‑passenger‑facing grades (e.g., Ruislip Depot operational managers) — TfL expects no impact on customer journeys.

TfL reiterates that the Elizabeth line, London Overground and Trams are not on strike but will be extremely busy and may not stop at some shared stations during the action. Always check live updates before you travel.
Which Tube lines are affected?
All London Underground lines are within scope of the action and disruption: Bakerloo, Central, Circle, District, Hammersmith & City, Jubilee, Metropolitan, Northern, Piccadilly, Victoria, and Waterloo & City. Service is expected to be limited on 7 Sept and little to none on 8–11 Sept across these lines.
Why these dates? (Who is striking on which day)
RMT has called rolling strike action by different Underground grades. This is why impacts vary by date even though the effect for passengers is system‑wide:
Fri 5 Sep (18:00) – Sat 6 Sep (17:59): Ruislip Depot operational managers (separate to main dispute).
Sun 7 Sep: Track Access Controllers, London Underground Control Centre, Power/Control and Emergency Response Unit (ERU) members.
Mon 8 Sep: All Fleet (except Engineering Vehicles O&M and ERU), Engineering, Stations and Trains members.
Tue 9 Sep: Signallers, Service Control and ERU members.
Wed 10 Sep: All Fleet (except Engineering Vehicles O&M and ERU), Engineering, Stations and Trains members.
Thu 11 Sep: Signallers and Service Control members.
TfL’s public advice mirrors this schedule and translates it into expected passenger impact (limited on Sunday, little to none Monday–Thursday, and a recovery on Friday morning).
What about big events during the strike window?
High‑profile events have already been reshaped to cope with reduced transport capacity. For example, Coldplay moved their Wembley Stadium shows from 7 & 8 September to 6 & 12 September “to avoid cancelling the shows” amid Tube strike logistics.
Practical travel tips
Plan early & check live status right before you leave (TfL Journey Planner / Status updates). Expect queues and station closures at short notice.
Finish early: If any Tube services do run, TfL advises completing journeys by 18:00 on strike days.
Use alternatives: Buses, Elizabeth line, London Overground, Trams, and National Rail — but allow extra time and expect crowding; some shared stations may be skip‑stopped.
DLR users: Plan around full shutdowns on 9 & 11 September.
