Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 Guide: All New Skins, Map Changes, Weapons & Rewards

fortnite new season New Skins

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 (titled “Shock ’N Awesome”) brings an unprecedented mix of crossover and original skins. The Battle Pass features three high-profile collaboration outfits, a first for Fortnite. Upon purchase of the pass (or Fortnite Crew subscription), players instantly unlock a UNSC Spartan skin from Halo. This Halo armor is also earnable for free: Epic Games confirmed that non-pass players who reach level 100 can claim the Spartan skin at no cost (a first-ever free Battle Pass skin). Reaching Tier 100 of the pass grants the Mighty Morphin’ Green Ranger from Power Rangers (with an alternate White Ranger style). Additionally, a bonus “Dino Megazord” outfit – the iconic Power Rangers mech – will unlock via quests on September 16, 2025 for Battle Pass owners.

Alongside the crossover heroes, the season introduces five new Fortnite-original characters in the Battle Pass. These include Yoo-mi, a pop idol with a combat twist; Agent Patch, a panda masquerading in human attire; Battle Gamer Mae, a gamer girl with prosthetic robot arms controlled by a gamepad; Lt. Ripp Slade, a heavily-armored soldier (a revamped Battlehawk from Chapter 1 Season 4) ready to take on the bugs; and Onyx Winter, the black-clad leader of the O.X.R. anti-bug forces. Each skin comes with matching cosmetic accessories as usual. Notably, Green and White Ranger skins are part of the pass, while the other five Rangers (Red, Blue, Yellow, Pink, Black) will be sold later as a separate item bundle in the shop. The Battle Pass is available for 1,000 V-Bucks and includes the standard 100 levels of unlockable rewards (with free rewards on a limited track) from August 7 to November 1, 2025.

fortnite new season New Map Changes

  • Demon’s Debris – The former Demon’s Domain area, destroyed during the Superman event, has been remade into a wreckage zone now crawling with insects. Technically a new POI, Demon’s Debris occupies the same spot on the map but with a blasted, hive-infested makeover (players won’t need to re-discover it since it’s a transformed existing zone). This area hosts one of the bug Queen encounters (after clearing enough bugs) as part of the new gameplay (see Rewards below).

  • The Hive – A massive central nest that is ground zero for the insect invasion. It’s exactly what it sounds like – an area overrun with swarming bugs and pulsing purple slime. Entering The Hive guarantees relentless bug combat, so come prepared with plenty of firepower. This is the heart of the bugs’ operations, and one of the most dangerous drop spots on the map.

  • Ranger’s Ruin – Formerly a bustling O.X.R. weapons research lab, this base has fallen to the infestation. The building lies shattered with a giant hive now erected in its place. Ranger’s Ruin is crawling with hostile creatures, but in return it offers rich loot for brave players. A Bug Queen boss can spawn here once you clear the nests, and defeating her yields a unique mythic shotgun and a special “Carapace” medallion power-up.

  • O.X.R. HQ – The main stronghold of the O.X.R. (Omni Xenon Response) military faction, who lead the counterattack against the bugs. This fortified headquarters is staffed by friendly O.X.R. NPC commanders and soldiers. At O.X.R. HQ, players can purchase weapons and items using Gold Bars at an on-site armory, providing a relatively safe haven just outside the infected zone. Expect plenty of O.X.R. gear and maybe even story quests originating here.

  • Swarmy Stash – A new stash outpost on the southern edge of the infestation, filled with decent loot but overrun by enemy bugs. True to its name, Swarmy Stash has been overwhelmed by “swarmer” insects, so you’ll have to fight through pests to get the goodies. It’s essentially a small loot cache location that the bugs have taken control of, serving as another hotspot for bug encounters.

fortnite new season New Weapons

  • Bug Blaster – A chunky high-tech plasma cannon that fires explosive glob projectiles. It can be charged up for a heavier blast, making it ideal for blowing apart clusters of bugs and nests. Epic describes the Bug Blaster as a “fight fire with fire” tool, implying it repurposes the bugs’ own energy against them.

  • Leadspitter 3000 Minigun – A large O.X.R.-issue gatling gun with a high rate of fire. This minigun absolutely shreds through swarms and even vehicles with sustained fire. Its orange-and-grey design matches the O.X.R. aesthetic. Expect it to excel at mowing down the smaller pests, though you’ll need to manage its spin-up time and recoil. (Note: Some sources spell it “Leadsplitter,” but the official name is Leadspitter 3000.)

  • Sweeper Shotgun – A new pump-action shotgun with a wide horizontal pellet spread. This means the Sweeper can hit multiple targets (great for groups of bugs) but is less reliable at range against single players. It packs a punch up close, especially in its Mythic variant obtained from a Queen, but you may miss some pellets on a distant moving target. Early hands-on impressions note it’s effective for clearing nests but not as overpowered in PvP.

  • O.X.R. Assault Rifle – A new assault rifle used by O.X.R. forces. This likely behaves as a precise, mid-range automatic rifle. In Mythic form (earned by defeating the Demon’s Debris Queen), it becomes the O.X.R. Mythic Rifle with enhanced stats. The O.X.R. rifle’s exact traits (scope or firing pattern) haven’t been detailed, but it’s designed as a reliable weapon for taking down bugs and players alike.

  • Wrecker Revolver – A hefty hand cannon that blurs the line between revolver and shotgun. It fires powerful rounds and can even rival shotguns at close range – one report calls it “basically a shotgun” due to its high damage when aimed. A Marksman Wrecker Revolver exotic variant is available (with higher fire rate and headshot multiplier) for those who reach Rank A and open O.X.R. bunkers.

  • Swarmstrike Rocket Launcher – A laser-guided multi-rocket launcher engineered to wipe out bug clusters. The Swarmstrike fires a salvo of small rockets that lock onto a target area, carpet-bombing it with explosives. It’s perfect for clearing infestations or flushing out entrenched enemies. Epic officially teased this weapon in promos, showing its bug-busting prowess. (In competitive play, Swarmstrike is disabled due to its power).

  • Blade Blaster – The iconic sidearm of the Power Rangers, coming to Fortnite later in the season. This slick sci-fi energy pistol (a hybrid blaster/blade in Ranger lore) offers semi-auto laser fire and a charge-up shot mode. The Blade Blaster will be added in a mid-season update, letting players channel their inner Ranger with quick pew-pew shots or a stronger charged blast. It’s a lightweight weapon but carries nostalgic heft for Power Rangers fans.

  • Roly Poly – A unique mobility item/vehicle arriving later this season. Essentially a giant tumbleweed-like bug ball, the Roly Poly lets you “somersault inside a giant bug” and roll/bounce across the map at high speed. You can also charge it up to launch with a burst of speed. Gross as it sounds, this is an effective way to quickly reposition or smash through structures, akin to the old Baller vehicle – but biologically inspired. (It’s not available at launch but will roll out in a future update.)

fortnite new season Rewards

  • Victory Umbrella – “O.X.R. ’Brella”: As always, winning a match this season earns you a special victory umbrella glider. This season’s umbrella fits the bug-war theme: it’s designed with spinning razor blades coated in green bug goo (resembling chopper rotors or insect wings). The umbrella, informally called the O.X.R. ’Brella, symbolizes the anti-bug effort. Any player who secures a Victory Royale in Chapter 6 Season 4 (Battle Royale or Zero Build) will receive this unique glider reward upon returning to the lobby. There are also variant umbrellas for specific modes – a gold-accented version for Ranked wins, and an “OG” retro variant for victories in the OG mode – following trends from previous seasons. But the basic silver-green bug umbrella is a one-time free reward for your first win of the season, so wear it with pride.

  • Free Halo Spartan Skin: In an unprecedented move, Epic is giving away a Battle Pass outfit for free this season as a grindable reward. Players who do not purchase the Season 4 Battle Pass can still earn the UNSC Spartan skin by reaching Level 100 before the season ends. This Halo collaboration outfit will be granted to qualifying players starting August 26, 2025. (Battle Pass owners get the Spartan at tier 1 automatically, essentially as early access.) This initiative lets everyone experience a premium collab skin through gameplay alone – marking the first time a Battle Pass skin is unlockable without buying the pass. If you plan to play a lot, you’ll be rewarded with the Halo hero for free, which is a major incentive for non-paying players.

  • Battle Pass Rewards and Bonus Skin: The paid Battle Pass itself contains numerous rewards beyond skins – including emotes, pickaxes, back blings, and more themed cosmetics for each character. Notably, Battle Pass holders will get access to the Dino Megazord outfit in mid-September by completing special quests, essentially as a “secret” skin reward. The pass also provides Battle Stars to claim rewards and includes some free tier items (like sprays, wraps, or V-Bucks) for those without the premium pass. As a promotion, Epic announced that purchasing the Battle Pass via Epic’s own payment platforms grants 20% back in Epic Rewards (store credit) to spend on future goodies. And for collectors, a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers bundle will hit the Item Shop on August 8, containing the five other Rangers and extras like a remixed “Go Go Power Rangers” music track – a nice add-on, though not free.

  • Twitch Drops (Launch Event): To celebrate the season launch, Epic offered Twitch Drop rewards during the opening weekend of Shock ’N Awesome. By watching Fortnite streams on Twitch between August 7 and August 11, players could earn cosmetic drops: after 30 minutes you get the “Metal Menace” Weapon Wrap, at 1 hour the “Tome of Skulls” Back Bling, and at 1.5 hours the “Skeletal Cyberscythe” Pickaxe. These are limited-time promotional rewards meant to tie into the season’s theme (a very metal, sci-fi aesthetic). Even if you missed the window, it shows Epic’s commitment to providing extra freebies for engagement.

  • Miscellaneous Freebies: Epic has a couple more reward offerings this season. Any player who makes any purchase from the Fortnite web Item Shop during Season 4 will instantly receive the Goldskull Peel Pack Back Bling (a golden banana skull backpack) as a bonus. Additionally, a Supercharged XP weekend is scheduled (Aug 15–18) giving players up to five bonus levels worth of XP just for logging in during that period – a helpful boost toward earning all the rewards. And as mentioned under Weapons, reaching certain O.X.R. Rank milestones in-match yields free loot drops like supply pods and access to exotic guns, effectively rewarding skilled play with high-end gear. Finally, those who defeat the roaming Queen bug bosses at key POIs are rewarded with Mythic weapons and unique Medallions that grant abilities (e.g. double-jump, health regen), turning these PvE victories into tangible rewards. The Medallions do come with a risk – carrying one marks you on enemy mini-maps – but the power-ups can be game-changing.
